The Vandalia City Council checked one more thing off the list as it works towards an April 28 bid letting for the Thrill Hill Road project. At Monday night’s meeting, the council approved a local public agency participation for federal participation agreement with IDOT. The agreement shows that there will be $98,000 allocated by the city as part of an 80%-20% financial agreement for the replacement of the Thrill Hill bridge with the other $390,000 coming from Surface Transportation Urban funds. The city has been working on getting additional right of way for the area around the bridge as design aspects required by IDOT require it. The city has also been working to clear brush from the site which is something needing to be completed by April 1 to help with the bid process.
