(Chicago, IL) — Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan is checking the national job search websites, not to find a new gig, but to investigate possible age discrimination. Madigan says seniors are often at a disadvantage when compiling an online resume, because some of the dates on the drop-down menu on some websites don’t go back far enough to allow them to include their education or past jobs. Madigan spokeswoman Eileen Boyce says the office has sent inquiries to six companies about their practices. She says any practice that makes it harder for a senior to seek a job on one of these sites could be discriminatory. Those letters went out to Career Builder, Monster and Beyond-dot-com, among others.
