(Springfield, IL) — Cities and towns in Illinois want their money from gas taxes and video poker, and want some more freedom in deciding how to spend it. The Illinois Municipal League yesterday unveiled its legislative priorities. The IML’s Brad Cole says local governments are just looking to get the money they are owed from the state. Cole says cities and towns also need pension reform and a way to cut some of their other costs.
