A Vandalia woman was injured in a one vehicle accident on Monday in Marion County. Illinois State Police reports indicate that a vehicle driven by 75 year old Roxann Brannon of Vandalia was traveling north bound on Illinois Route 37, when the vehicle left the roadway slightly to the right onto the rocky shoulder. As Brannon steered back onto the roadway the vehicle began to enter the south bound lane. State Police say Brannon over corrected and the rear end of the vehicle began to skid sideways left. The vehicle then left the roadway down into a ditch embankment. State Police says upon impact with the embankment, the vehicle then proceeded to roll four times side to side before coming to a final rest upright. Marion County EMS responded and Brannon was flown from the scene by Air Evac to a St. Louis Hospital. The accident occurred on Route 37, one quarter mile south of Kell Road in Marion County.
