Lawmakers return to Springfield this week and Senate President John Cullerton says now is the time to pass the proposed “Grand Bargain.” The massive legislative package covers everything from state finances, a tax increase, an expansion of gambling and worker’s compensation reform. Cullerton says they will discuss the details again in caucus and take a vote on the floor this week.
The Grand Bargain originally included an increase in the minimum wage but Cullerton says they will now be discussed separately.
