Richard D. “Dickie” Shanks, 59, of Vandalia, Illinois, passed away Saturday, January 21, 2017, at Fayette County Hospital in Vandalia, IL.
Services will be held 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, January 24th at Northside Christian Church, Vandalia, IL, with Pastor Curtis Sweeney officiating. Burial will follow at Fairlawn Cemetery Vandalia, IL, Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Tuesday at the Church with Masonic rites at 10:30 A.M. Memorials: Fayette Co. He was born July 11, 1957, in Kirksville, MO, the son of John George Shanks and Doris (McNear) Boggs, Brownstown, IL. He was formerly employed at South Central F. S. and Fayette County Hospital Maintenance Dept… Dickie was a member of the Northside Christian Church, Vandalia. IL, Temperance Lodge # 16, A.F.A.M. Vandalia, IL , Scottish Rite Bodies of Southern Illinois, Belleville, IL, Old National Trail Shrine Club, Vandalia, IL, and the Tin Lizzy Patrol of Vandalia, and Vandalia Moose Lodge #1447.
