The Lady Vandals finished up their play in the Effingham Tournament beating Pana 47-36 on Thursday night. After getting out to a quick 10-0 lead, the Lady Vandals would allow just two baskets to the Panthers in the first quarter and would go on to lead 25-17 at the half. After two turnovers on their first two possessions of the second half and allowing Pana to it to a 25-21 ballgame, the Lady Vandals would edge back out to a 7-point lead and would hold the lead for the remainder of the game to close out the 11-point victory. Lanee McNary would lead the Vandals with 15 points while Olivia Marquardt finished with 13 points. The win over Pana was the second in a week for the Lady Vandals who are now 7-14 on the season. The girls will have four days off now before they get back into action on Tuesday at home when they face Greenville for the second time in 8 days who they fell to in overtime this past Monday at the tournament.
Also, Olivia Marquardt and Anna Miller were named to the Effingham All Tournament Team.
