A Vandalia man charged with three counts of possession of child pornography with a victim under 13 years of age made an appearance in Fayette County Court on Tuesday. 56-year old William Frakes appeared in Fayette County Court with his attorney Robert Bas on Tuesday for a pre-trial hearing in the matter. During the hearing, both the state’s attorney and the defense announced that they are ready to proceed to trial for which a date has been set for February 20 at 8:30am. A final pre-trial hearing date was set for February 7 at 1pm to take care of any final motions and business in preparation for the trial. Frakes is charged with two counts of child pornography as he is alleged to have obtained photographs of a sadistic nature depicting a victim reasonably known to be under the age of 13, both Class X felonies, as well as one count of child pornography for possessing a photograph depicting a victim reasonably known to be under the age of 13, a Class 2 felony.
