A court date has been set for the resentencing hearing of a Fayette County man convicted of murder in 2011. The hearing for 21-year old Clifford W. Baker is scheduled for April 3rd beginning at 9am. At the time he was found guilty of first degree murder and home invasion and the original sentencing in the case, Baker was under the age of 18, but was tried and then sentenced as an adult to life in prison without the possibility of parole. However, a Supreme Court decision found it unconstitutional to have someone who, at the time, was under the age of 18 to not have the possibility of parole—so Baker must now be re-sentenced in Fayette County Court although his original convictions do remain in place. A final conference call in the matter has been set for March 9 at 1pm.
