The Fayette County Board took care of some yearly business during their monthly meeting last week. After a short explanation of one minor change and discussion on the issue, the board unanimously approved the renewal of the county’s health insurance with Health Alliance for 2017.
In other business, the board approved a liquor license for the Fayette County Fair Association. A referendum passed in the November election allowing the sale of alcohol in the unincorporated areas of Otego Township led the way for the fair to be able to apply for the license. They will now be able to have alcohol for events at the fairgrounds.
Also at the meeting, the county board approved the reappointment of Vandalia Mayor Rick Gottman and Holiday Inn Express Manager Sally Emerick to the Tourism Bureau Illinois South for the 2017 Fiscal Year.
