(Chicago, IL) — Even in the face of Republican promises to repeal and replace Obamacare, more than three-hundred-51-thousand Illinoisans have signed up for health insurance under the federal law. That’s about 44-hundred more people than at the same time last year. New federal figures show that 13-percent of the state’s enrollees live in rural communities. About half are between 45 and 64-years old, while a quarter are between 18 and 34. Nationally, eleven-point-five-million people signed up for coverage by the end of December, two-hundred-90-thousand more than last year at the same time.
