Democratic and Republican leaders in the Senate say they hope to pass their bipartisan budget and reform plan by February 1st. With not enough time to move the massive package thru during the 2 day lame duck legislative session, Senate President John Cullerton says they are prepared to focus on it in the coming weeks.
And, Senate Minority Leader Christine Radogno says this is the product of bipartisan cooperation.
The proposal funds the rest of the fiscal year and also includes term limits for legislative leaders, and income tax increase, money to pay old bills, pension reform, an expansion of gambling and more.
