(Springfield, IL) — A veteran state lawmaker is calling it a career, while another is leaving his post early. State Representative Monique Davis of Chicago won reelection, but is resigning after a nearly 30-year career. Local Democratic leaders will choose her replacement. Meanwhile, State Representative John Bradley of Marion, who lost his seat to Republican Dave Severin in November, is leaving two days before his sixth term ends. His former assistant Jim Kirkpatrick will fill his seat for those two days next week.
