(Carbondale, IL) — Leaders at Southern Illinois University say they’re willing to look at what becoming a “sanctuary campus” will mean. But no one is ready to commit. The school’s leadership earlier this month said it’ll take a look at the idea. SIU’s Graduate and Professional Student Council and the Undergraduate Student Government demanded the action in a November letter. The students say President-elect Trump’s comments about immigrants are driving their desire.
