An accident on Interstate 57 in Marion County on Christmas night led to a family being taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries. Illinois State Police reports indicate a Motor Home being driven by 30 year old Jason Harmon of White Heath, Illinois was south bound on Interstate 57 in the right lane of traffic at mile post 107. A semi truck-tractor being driven by 60 year old Edward Kalisz of Oshawa, Ontario was also south bound on I-57 in the right hand lane, directly behind Harmon’s vehicle. State Police say that Kalisz rear ended the Harmon vehicle. Kalisz’s vehicle then left the roadway right, rolling onto its side, then impacted the concrete bridge support. The Harmon vehicle, which was also towing a car, skidded sideways into the center median rolling onto its side and impacted the center concrete bridge support. Harmon, along with 29 year old Jessica Harmon, and two children were also transported to Salem Township Hospital for treatment. Illinois State Police say any charges are pending further investigation.
