(Springfield, IL) — Some state employees are afraid the Grinch is at work because their paychecks didn’t show up in their bank accounts today as expected. The state Department of Employment Security says its payrolll was submitted to the Comptroller’s office early so the pay would come today instead of the regularly scheduled payday, Monday. New Comptroller Susana Mendoza’s office says the original date was set by predecessor Leslie Munger and says IDES never asked that the pay date be moved up.
