Just one of the four school districts in the county will see contested races in the upcoming April Consolidated Election. In the Brownstown School District, 2 seats will be open for both Sefton and Otego Townships. In Sefton Township, the seats of current Board President Randy Mason and Barb Morrison are up for election. Mason filed his petition and will run for re-election while Morrison will not be running. Chad Towler and Andy Elam both filed petitions to run and just of the three will be elected to the board. Board members Laura Willms of Otego Township and Theresa Barnick of Wheatland Township are both up for election as well. Barnick will not run for re-election and Willms has filed her petition to run. Joining Willms from Otego Township will be Donald Lovett and Brad Koonce and two of the three will be able to be elected to the board.
In the Vandalia School District, Connie Goldsmith, Joe Lawson, John W. Campbell and Chris Palmer are all up for election. All four filed their petitions to run and all four will be unopposed as no one else filed to run.
In the St. Elmo School District, the seats of Chad Wilhour, Kevin Maxey, Andra Carson and Doug Aderman are up for election. All four have filed and will run unopposed as no one else filed to run.
In the Ramsey School District, Shane Hadley, Julie Morell, Keith Casey and Katie Hayes are all up for re-election and all have filed their paperwork to run. All four will be unopposed in the election after no one else turned in petitions to run.
