Linda “Blondie” K. (Thacker) Forehand, 68 years old, of Patoka lost her courageous five month battle to cancer Sunday, December 18, 2016, at her home. She was born on August 12, 1948 in Vandalia, IL. the daughter of Robert & Georgia (Heather) Thacker of Mulberry Grove.
Survivors include significant other of 27 years Jack Mullen of Patoka, IL, children, Shane Forehand and wife Denise “Deenie” of Vandalia, IL, Lori Davis and Fiance Nick Elmore of Greenville, IL, Amy Mullen of Edmund, OK, Jared “Blue” Mullen and wife Susan of Edmund, OK; 9 grandchildren, Dalton Forehand, Cole Forehand, Morgan Crouse and husband Ryan, Blake Davis, Alex Davis, Mia Elmore, Addison Mullen; sisters, Brenda Snow and husband Jim of Greenville, IL, Sandy Ellsworth of Mulberry Grove and their families, several nieces and nephews.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents.
Ms. Forehand was a graduate of Mulberry Grove High School. She worked as an independent hair stylist for many years. She also had a love for thrift shopping, mushroom hunting, and swimming in her pool. She also enjoyed cooking, bowling, and playing cards. She was known for always being busy and cleaning something. She treasured the time spent with her family and friends. She was a member of Women of the Moose and V.F.W. Auxiliary Post #1377
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at the Day Macz Funeral Home in Patoka with Pastor Rick Atchley officiating. Interment will be in the Magassi Cemetery in Patoka. Friends may call from 5:00pm to 8:00p.m. Tuesday, December 20, 2016 and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home in Patoka. Memorials may be made to Magassi Cemetery or Family’s Wishes.
