(Springfield, IL) — Governor Rauner says he’s not going to sit down with statehouse Democrats until they’re ‘serious’ about a state budget. The governor is trying to push Democrats, who control the legislature, to deliver a budget plan for next year. Democrats say the governor is the one who must deliver the plan first. Illinois‘ six-month budget expires at the end of the month.
