(Belleville, IL) — Illinois‘ largest public worker union is asking a circuit court to halt the Rauner administration’s implementation of labor terms without a deal in place. AFSCME Local 31 filed the request in St. Clair County Court on Wednesday. Rauner took action after a state labor board sided with him last month, saying talks were at an “impasse,” which gave Rauner the ability to impose his own terms. AFSCME officials claimed in a press release that Rauner entered a binding legal agreement to wait to do that until the labor board issues a written decision, which has not happened.
