An overturned semi tractor-trailer led to traffic delays on Thursday morning on Interstate 70 in Effingham County. Illinois State Police reports say that a semi tractor-trailer driven by 30 year old Gurjit Singh of Bakersfield, California was traveling eastbound on I-70 near mile post 84 in Effingham County. Singh stated to state police he was in the left lane, swerved off onto the rumble strips and partially into the median. Singh then stated he attempted to swerve back to the right, over corrected, causing the unit to overturn into the roadway across both lanes of eastbound Interstate 70. This led to traffic being rerouted onto U.S. Route 40 and led to traffic delays for a few hours.
