A Wisconsin man was injured in a one vehicle accident on Interstate 70 in Fayette County Wednesday. Reports from the Illinois State Police indicate that a vehicle driven by 39 year old Benjamin C. Klein of River Falls, Wisconsin was traveling east on I-70 at mile marker 74.5—which is 1.5 miles west of the St. Elmo exit—when he left the roadway to the right and struck a guardrail face on the right side of the roadway. The Klein vehicle then left the roadway to the right and came to a stop. Klein was transported to Fayette County Hospital for treatment by Fayette County Ambulance. Klein was also charged with Driving Under the Influence, Improper Lane Usage, Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident and Illinois Transportation of Alcohol.
