After discussion concerning the Vandalia City Council not granting easements to Fayette Water Company for the extending their lines to residents living in the south Vandalia Lake area lasted over an hour last week, the matter was resolved in fairly quick fashion at last night’s special meeting of the council. Vandalia Mayor Rick Gottman opened the meeting by referring to City Attorney Ryan Connor who explained what was discovered about the legal issues of the matter since last week’s meeting.
Connor then stated that the city just needed to know what was being asked of them now from Fayette Water Company for the project and FWC’s attorney Rick Myers said they were now just simply looking for the city’s blessing to put meters on lake lots as part of the project. And Mayor Gottman put the matter to the council.
With no objection from any Vandalia City Council members, Fayette Water Company can move forward with the project to extend their water lines to serve those living in the south Vandalia Lake area.
