(Springfield, IL) — A survey of state jobs is showing that nearly four-hundred jobs that could be moved to Springfield from state offices elsewhere in Illinois. Acting on a resolution passed by lawmakers last spring, the Department of Central Management Services tallied two-hundred-67 filled job slots and one-hundred-19 empty ones that could be transferred to the state capital. Springfield state rep Sara Wojcicki Jimenez says her intent isn’t to force people to move to keep their jobs, but to transfer those jobs when they become vacant.
