(Champaign, IL) — There’s a viral infection going around on the University of Illinois campus. The “Champaign News-Gazette” reports there have been more than 60 cases of hand, foot and mouth disease that have surfaced since the beginning of the semester. The illness can cause fever, sore throat and reduced appetite before developing into blistering sores. It can be spread through close personal contact and through the air by coughing and sneezing.
