Folks on hand got to hear from each of the candidates for the 3 contested Fayette County-wide races on Thursday evening. The most heated of the night was the forum between the two candidates for Fayette County State’s Attorney-Republican incumbent Joshua Morrison and Democrat challenger, and former Fayette County State’s Attorney, Stephen Friedel. One question to both candidates was what do they see as the role of the State’s Attorney in helping to curb the drug problem in Fayette County. Friedel says his 3 terms in office show that he is a drug prosecutor.
But, Morrison says the statistics show the “tough on drugs” plan from Mr. Friedel didn’t necessarily work.
We will have much more from the State’s Attorneys forum, along with more from the Circuit Clerk and Coroner’s forums, coming up on Monday during NewsCenter.
