A Farina man charged with aggravated kidnapping stemming from an incident in July made an appearance in Fayette County Court on Wednesday. 34-year old Darrel K. Moulton appeared in court for formal arraignment. After a preliminary hearing on September 22 led to a delay in ruling on probable cause as Judge Don Scheafor took the matter under advisement to research case law presented by the defense and prosecution, a decision in the matter was entered into the official record on Friday. The finding entered was that of probable cause being found that a crime was committed by the defendant leading to the continuing of the case. With probable cause being found, Moulton appeared in court Tuesday and was formally arraigned on the charge of Aggravated Kidnapping of a child under the age of 13 as information states that on July 30th, he allegedly, “knowingly and secretly confined a child under the age of 13 years, against his will.” Moulton will now appear for pre-trial on October 20 at 11am. He remains in the Fayette County Jail on $500,000 bond.
