The Cards closed out the season with a 10-4 win over the Pirates, but finished a game behind the wild-card winning Mets and Giants. Matt Carpenter hit a three-run homer in the sixth and St. Louis added six more in the seventh.

(Cincinnati, OH) — The Cubs wrapped up regular-season play with a 7-4 comeback win over the Reds in Cincinnati. Miguel Montero’s two-run homer capped a four-run ninth inning rally for Chicago, which finished with 103 wins. The Cubs will host either the Mets or Giants in the NL Division Series starting Friday.
