(St. Louis, MO) — Jedd Gyorko drilled the tie-breaking homer in the eighth inning as the Cardinals dropped the Pirates 4-3 in St. Louis. The battle for the NL’s final Wild Card spot will come down to game 162 as the Cards used a three-run sixth inning to rally. Kevin Siegrist earned the win as St. Louis pitched a bullpen game after Michael Wacha was pulled early. The Mets clinched the other NL Wild Card spot after beating the Phillies Saturday. Jung Ho Kang drilled a three-run homer in the first for Pittsburgh. Juan Nicasio blew the save and Felipe Rivero took the loss, falling to 1-and-6.
