An 18 year old man was found guilty on two counts and not guilty on the more serious charge, in a jury trial in Fayette County on Thursday. 18 year old Nathan T. Wiseman was found guilty on the charges of Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm—which is a Class One Felony—and was also found guilty on a charge of Reckless Conduct. Wiseman was found not guilty on the more serious charge of Aggravated Battery with a Firearm—which is a Class X Felony. The incident that to the trial occurred almost three years ago-in February of 2014-when Wiseman was 15 years old and the alleged victim was only 11 years old. Information states that Wiseman discharged a firearm at the male minor. Although Wiseman was only 15 at that time, Fayette County State’s Attorney Joshua Morrison says he was mandatorily charged as an adult. After the verdict, Wiseman’s bond was revoked and a court date of October 7th was set, at which time the date for sentencing is expected to be chosen.
