(San Francisco, CA) — The Cardinals scored a pair of runs in the top of the ninth inning to edge the Giants, 3-2, at AT&T Park. Randal Grichuk’s RBI single and Kolten Wong’s sac-fly propelled St. Louis to victory and ended a three-game losing streak. Seung Hwan Oh earned the win with two innings of scoreless relief. San Francisco’s Santiago Casilla blew the save and took the loss. Hunter Pence collected a pair of singles and scored a run in the loss.
(Chicago, IL) — Ryan Braun homered twice and Chris Carter added a grand slam as the Brewers pounded the Cubs, 11-3, at Wrigley Field. Braun finished with five RBI and Carter capped the win in the ninth with the grand slam to lift Milwaukee. Scooter Gennett clubbed an RBI-double and scored four times. Zach Davies earned the win as the Crew took a 2-1 lead in the four-game series. Jake Arrieta took the loss, falling to 17-and-7 for the Cubs. Chris Coghlan homered in defeat.
