Name: Jeffrey Lee “Jethro” Jenkins, 57 years old of Altamont passed away suddenly on September 3, 2016 at 9:30 PM at St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital, Effingham, Illinois
Visitation for family and friends will be conducted from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Wednesday September 7, 2016 at the Kull Funeral Chapel, Altamont. Funeral Services will follow at 8:00 PM with the Rev. Dr. James F. Wright of the Immanuel Lutheran Church officiating.
Burial Services will be conducted at a later date in the Arborcrest Memorial Park Cemetery next to his grandparents.
Jeffrey was born September 3, 1959 in the Dr. Mark Greer hospital, Vandalia, Illinois exactly 57 years from his birth. He was a former member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church where he was baptized and confirmed his faith in 1971. He graduated from Altamont Community High School with the class of 1974.
“Jethro” as his local nickname had been employed at the Goers Motor Sales in Altamont by his grandfather Werner Goers and worked with his uncle Lee Goers in the automotive industry. Jethro then moved to Florida where he was employed by the Bacardi Rum Distillery and then later for the Ray Mifflin Roofing Company for numerous years. He then returned to Altamont where he did odd jobs and was seen around town. He always wanted to be a friend to many people.
Memorials they may be directed to the Effingham County Humane Society and or the Donor’s Choice.
