The Vandals fall to 1-1 on the season after a 42 to 13 loss to Carlinville on Friday night at Mark Greer Field. Two offensive plays into the game, Carlinville had a 7 to 0 lead on a 54 yard TD run by Jacob Dixon. It would stay that way until the final minute of the first half, when Dixon run for 46 yards for a TD just before halftime to put Carlinville up 14 to 0 at the break. After falling behind 21-0, the Vandals got on the board when Richie Well connected with Marcus Zimmerman for a 51 yard TD pass, cutting the deficit to 21 to 7—but that was as close as the Vandals would get. The Vandals got their final score in the final few minutes on a 2 yard TD run by Logan Sullens. The Vandals fall to 1-1 on the season. They will play their first road game of the season this Friday night as they will travel to Staunton to take on the 0-2 Bulldogs. Staunton has yet to score on the season.
