(Springfield, IL) — The state agreeing to pay four-hundred-50-thousand-dollars to a man who says he was mocked and punished after he reported being raped by a cellmate five years ago at the Logan Correctional Center. The man sued, claiming prison officials failed to give him proper medical attention, put him in segregation and threatened to add more time to his sentence if he didn’t withdraw his allegation. There’s been no comment from the Department of Corrections or the attorneys representing the defendants, including former warden Alex Dawson and department investigator Kevin Standley.
