The preliminary hearing of a Vandalia man charged with 3 counts of child pornography was continued on Thursday in Fayette County Court. 56-year old William Frakes was set for a preliminary hearing on Tuesday. However, upon entering the courtroom, Frakes informed his attorney, public defender Ed Potter, that he would like to have a motion for recusal filed as he wishes for Judge Don Scheafor to be recused in the matter. With the new information, Potter requested to have the case reset for a motion hearing which will be held September 23 at 11am in front of Judge Kevin Parker. Until that motion is argued and a decision on the motion is made, a new date for the preliminary hearing will not be set. Frakes currently remains in the Fayette County Jail on $350,000 bond.
