(Chicago, IL) — Addison Russell slammed a go-ahead two-run single in the seventh inning as the Cubs topped the Giants, 5-4, in Chicago. The Cubs racked up three runs in the first inning, highlighted by Chris Coghlan’s RBI-double. Joe Smith earned the relief win and Carl Edwards Junior notched his first career save. The Cubs improved to 49-and-19 at home. The second of the four-game series from Wrigley is today.
