(Chicago, IL) — Former Illinois Governor Pat Quinn is promoting his own plan for changing the way political maps are drawn in the state. Quinn unveiled a proposal yesterday that would allow the state Supreme Court to nominate eleven people to a fair map redistricting commission. That group would hold hearings and draw a map for the legislative districts. The commission would include no more than six people belonging to the same party.
