Governor Bruce Rauner, who has been seen riding a motorcycle on several occasions during his time as Governor, will be doing so on Saturday and making a stop in Vandalia along the way. The event is A “Run to Springfield” event being held on Saturday to honor Veteran’s Motorcycling Groups, First Responders and A.B.A.T.E. of Illinois. The event is getting started at Black Diamond Harley Davidson in Marion and will also include stops in Mt. Vernon and Pana. The Vandalia stop is expected to be at noon for lunch at the Vandalia Moose Lodge. In anticipation of their arrival in Vandalia, 3rd Street will be blocked off from Gallatin Street to Edwards Street beginning at 11 am and until the time they roll out towards Pana. After Vandalia, the event makes it’s stop in Pana, then a Wreath Laying Ceremony at Camp Butler in Springfield and then a party at the Illinois Fairgrounds from 5 pm to 8 pm on Saturday evening.
