(Pontiac, IL) — The union for state prison workers says the Sunday disturbance at the Pontiac Correctional Center started when an inmate punched a guard lieutenant. The American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees says the resulting fight involved six prison employees and five inmates. The guards all suffered cuts and bruises, but have been released from the hospital as Department of Corrections begins an investigation and the prison remains on lockdown.
