(Springfield, IL) — A new task force set up to combat human trafficking is authorized after the latest bill signed by Governor Bruce Rauner. It was a busy weekend for Rauner, as he signed a package of bills affecting the Department of Children and Family Services, including one that drops the term “ward of the state” when referring to foster children, changing the term to “youth in care.” Rauner vetoed a bill that would have re-opened the work camp in Hardin County and killed a bill to stop Illinois from suing prison inmates to recover the cost of incarcerating them.
