Frank Miller, 92, of Altamont, died at 9:14 a.m., Monday, August 15, 2016 at HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital, Effingham.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, August 19, 2016 at Zion Lutheran Church, Loogootee with Rev. Krista Stokke officiating. Burial will follow at Old Loogootee Cemetery, rural Fayette County. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, August 18th at Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont and for one hour prior to services at the church on Friday. Memorials may be made to the Lutheran Care Center Kids Enrichment Center, Altamont or Zion Lutheran Church, Loogootee.
Alva Franklin ‘Frank’ Miller was born on Thursday, February 7, 1924 in Wheatland Township, rural Fayette County, IL to Simon Peter and Dada Colis (Calvert) Miller. He married Evelyn Marie Bergmann on Sunday, November 23, 1947 in Wheatland Township, rural Fayette County, IL. They enjoyed over 67 years of marriage and she preceded him in death on Saturday, August 15, 2015. He was a retired dairy and grain farmer and self-employed painter. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Loogootee where he had served in various capacities.
He is survived by his daughter Connie Berg and her husband Dale of Altamont; 3 grandchildren; Chad Berg of Effingham, Christopher Berg and special friend Kellie of St. Elmo and Alecia Landreth and her husband Shane of Farina, 3 great grandchildren; Brenna, Paisley, and Fynlie; sisters-in-law, Alberda Pruett of St. Peter and Patricia Bergmann of Springfield, and brother-in-law Willis (Helen) Bergmann of Farina.
He was preceded in death by; his wife, parents, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Edd and Ella Bergmann; siblings, Phoebe (Ewald) Runge, Gladys (Ernest) Baker, Esther (Eugene) Reese, Albert (Mabel) Miller, Alice (Vernon) Runge, Nola (Donald) Robb, Lester (Erma) Miller, and Opal Mary (Francis) Krutsinger.
