The official start of the school year is here and Vandalia High School took time Wednesday night to show off their large summer project with the addition of air conditioning in the building. An open house was held for students, parents and community members to walk through the school now that the project is completed and at the end of the open house, Vandalia Superintendent Rich Well says the large scaled summer project went well and praised the local people who were involved in the process.
And Well says he along with the staff are excited for the improved learning environment for the students with the changes made this summer.
Today is the first day of student attendance for Vandalia students. And unlike recent past school years, students will not be getting dismissed early for the first several weeks due to heat as the addition of air conditioning has remedied the need for the early dismissal.
