Facing a deficit in the General Fund of $105,000 after the month of July, the Fayette County Board Tuesday night approved a loan from the Capital Improvement Fund to the General Fund. With a motion made and seconded for the loan, County Board Vice-Chairman Darrell Schaal explained that the county has only seen 50% of its revenue come in at this point of the year and they are trying to figure out why that is the case.
And, Schaal saying one possible explanation may be real estate disbursement coming in the last third of the year.
County Treasurer Rose Hoover reminded that board that the real estate money that comes in is supposed to be for use in the next fiscal year.
Following discussion, the motion to approve the loan was carried by a vote of 8-1 with Wade Wilhour casting the lone no vote. Board members Jeff Beckman, Chad Austin, Troy Patillo, Keith Cole and Joe Kelly were not present for the meeting leaving just the 9 voting members present.
