(Chicago, IL) — Federal judge James Zagel is refusing to reduce the 14-year sentence of former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich. Blagojevich had sought to have some time taken off his term because five of the 18 counts on which he was convicted were tossed out by a federal appellate court. Blagojevich appeared via video fom the Colorado prison where he’s serving time for corruption. He wept during his testimony and apologized for his actions, but Judge Zagel said the same sentence will apply.
