(Kansas City, MO) — Matt Carpenter homered, plated two and scored twice in the Cardinals‘ 8-4 win over the Royals at Kauffman Stadium. Six different Redbirds drove in a run apiece in support of Michael Wacha, who went six innings to improve to 4-and-7. They’ve split the first two of the four-game home-and-home set.

A night after his historic three-homer performance, Kris Bryant singled in the go-ahead run in the 15th. South Central High School grad Spencer Patton earned his first win. The teams close out the three-game series with a matinee today.
