A vehicle that was reported stolen 18 months ago and two states away was recovered on Monday in the Kaskaskia River. Fayette County Sheriff Chris Smith says the vehicle was recovered from the Kaskaskia River late yesterday—the location was County Road 900 North, east of the river bridge. Sheriff Smith says the vehicle was stolen out of Tennessee in December of 2014.
Sheriff Smith says the vehicle was a silver/gray Cadillac CTS 4 door with Tennessee plates. Sheriff Smith says they are looking for the public’s help to know if anyone saw the vehicle around the Shobonier area. You can contact the Sheriff’s Department at 283-2141.
