One more day of hot weather is upon us for today—and then we will get a break from the heat. We are looking at mostly sunny skies today with a high of 93. And, then mostly clear skies for tonight with a low of 67. But, the hot weather will take a break as we’ll see a high of 81 on Tuesday, a high of 79 on Wednesday and then a high of 82 on Thursday. We do begin to see the temperatures creep back up as we draw closer to the upcoming holiday weekend.
Meanwhile, most, if not all, of Fayette County received some much needed rainfall. Many areas, including the Brownstown and St. Elmo areas, received a large amount of rain that came over a good period of time as a very slow moving system came thru the county—bringing some of the best rains to the areas for a couple of weeks. There was a severe thunderstorm warning issues at one time for southwestern Fayette County—but that was a very short period of time before the warning was cancelled.
