(Springfield, IL) — The Illinois House won’t be meeting today in the state capitol. For the third week in a row, Speaker Michael Madigan decided to cancel a planned legislative session. Madigan said he wants to give lawmakers time to come up with a compromise on a budget plan. Governor Rauner says he doesn’t want to call a special session but will evaluate his options as the state inches closer to the new fiscal year.
