(Springfield, IL) — The attack on an Orlando nightclub that left 49 dead and dozens wounded has refocused attention on gun control bills pending in Illinois. The House is considering a bill to require gun dealers to be licensed by the state and another to allow family members or others to seek court orders barring threatening individuals from possessing guns. A bill that’s on Governor Rauner’s desk would require the state police to notify local law enforcement when a person’s FOID card is revoked after a court ruling of mental illness.
