An 18-year old Brownstown teen has been charged with unlawful possession of a stolen vehicle as well as theft in Fayette County Court. Dawson Rine is charged with unlawful possession of a stolen vehicle, a Class 1 Felony, as count information states he allegedly “possessed a 1994 Honda knowing it to have been stolen.” Rine also faces a charge of theft, a Class 3 Felony, for allegedly “knowingly obtaining control over property, being a 1994 Honda, having a total value in excess of $500, intending to deprive the owner permanently of the use of the property.” A third count in the matter, also has Rine charged with illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor, a Class A Misdemeanor. Rine appeared in Fayette County Court on Tuesday where a public defender has been appointed and bond in the matter was set. Rine posted bond and was released on Wednesday and will now have a preliminary hearing and first appearance with counsel in the matter on July 8 at 10a.m.
